Moscow City Day - 7th September
Every year, on the second Saturday in September, Muscovites commemorate the founding of their City in 1147 AD. According to Tass, Putin congratulated the city residents and described Moscow as ‘a symbol and a reliable stronghold of Russian Statehood’. Much of the city was burned to the ground when Napoleon entered it in 1812. Unable to find shelter and sustenance there, he was forced into a disastrous retreat. Then in 1941, the Nazis came close to taking it but ultimately failed and suffered their first major defeat of the war. After this, the Wehrmacht was no longer seen as invincible.
Old men, women and children - proud Muscovites - helped build the anti-tank ditches around the city in 1941, to defend their native soil. Young people will have heard the stories their grandparents told them and they will be inspired. The Russian people, as a whole, have such experiences in their collective memory and the Kursk incursion will have awakened that memory. If you’ve heard talk in the legacy media about declining Russian morale or dissatisfaction with Putin, ignore it. The Russian people are made of sterner stuff. Ukraine’s situation is so desperate that the government will resort to chimeras, just as the Nazis did in the final, desperate weeks of the war. Declining Russian morale is a chimera along with claims about Putin’s declining popularity.
This week, the battlefields of Ukraine have occupied the thoughts of commentators and observers as much as anything else. What happens on the battlefields radiates an undeniable reality outwards that no one can ignore for very long. Narratives have to be built around this ‘core’ reality. I believe that slowly the narrative will change, is changing, to accommodate this.
When the Russians launched their counter-offensive in Kursk on the 10th September that became part of the ‘core’ reality. The success of this latest Russian move will make it impossible for the Ukrainians to achieve their original objective: i.e. The Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. But the chances of that happening had already receded precipitously in recent weeks.
The possibility of Ukrainian terrorists taking possession of a nuclear power plant and trying to blackmail Russia does not bear thinking about for long. But it didn’t happen.
To add insult to injury, the poor Ukrainian forces are suffering in many respects - through loss of men and materiel, through lack of doctors, shells, replacements, artillery, air defences and so on. Desertion has reached epidemic proportions and epidemics are evident among the rank and file. It’s miserable enough now for those on the autumnal fronts but cauld winter is coming!
Putin has come under some pressure to agree to a ceasefire and negotiate this week - from friend and foe alike. However, statements from prominent Russian statesman, including Shoigu and Medvedev, have made it clear that both are out of the question as long as Ukrainian ‘terrorists’ remain on Russian soil. Russian soldiers in the Donbass are on a roll - so the last thing they want is a ceasefire. Putin also called out the the US for using Ukraine as a proxy war in a bid to defeat Russia strategically and expanding militarily in Asia in order to contain China. He warned the West that assisting the Ukrainians with missile launches deep into Russia would make them combatants and therefore NATO would be at war with Russia (see below).
In the Middle East, no major changes have taken place as the slaughter continues in Gaza and elsewhere. Netanyahu once admitted that he does not want to discuss a ceasefire until after the US elections in November - so I am not optimistic that it will happen yet.
In Europe, there is no sign of Macron’s impeachment so far and our dear Olaf has transformed from war monger to peacemaker, without missing a beat.
In the US, cackling Kamala made what she doubtless thought were profound observations about the colour of Starbucks cups while Donald the Statesman gave a shot across the bows of BRICS countries and those who would ditch the dollar, threatening tariffs rather than sanctions. Is he the only US statesman who can appreciate the problems the country is facing?
In their first debate, Kamala didn’t perform very well imv, though Democrats will no doubt disagree. Some say she cheated with an earpiece, which would not surprise me.
Finally, Russia held its largest strategic naval drills in decades alongside its ally China, according to RT.
Putin Warns the West
In a momentous press interview, Vladimir Putin said that he appreciates that if the US authorises strikes with missile systems deep into Russia they will be guided by US satellites and operated by NATO personnel, who will then have become combatants. This will mean that NATO will be ‘waging war against Russia’, he said. Thereafter, ‘we will make appropriate decisions based on the threat posed to us’, he warned. You can read more of his scary statement here or watch it here. Pravda also covers the interview here and so does b on the Moon of Alabama (13th September).
The Russians have expelled six British diplomats for ‘subversive activities’ - as you can read at Tass. It is claimed that within MI6 a whole structure is devoted to inflicting a strategic defeat of the Russian Federation. Things are getting hotter.
Ajit Doval Visits Moscow
The Indian National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, visited Putin in Moscow on the 10th and 11th September to discuss various matters pertaining to security - according to RT. Inevitably, they will have spoken of the Ukraine war and India will want Putin to end it quickly - through negotiation. This is understandable since the war must be affecting trade for many of the BRICS countries. Ajit used to be a Spy Master so he and Putin will have this in common.
Some Ukrainian Woes
Can’t Pay Soldiers
Ukraine appears to have run out of money to pay its soldiers - according to RT. Roksolana Pidlasa, who chairs the parliamentary budgetary committee, explained that its combatants will not receive a full pay cheque in September due to a delay in aid from the US. Faced with a choice of buying more shells or paying their soldiers, Ukraine is buying more shells: naturally.
Doctor Shortage
A Ukrainian source claims that there is a shortage of Doctors for civilians and military personnel alike because some have left the country while many more have been drafted. This became evident during the Russian attack on the Military college in Poltava where medical personnel attending appeared inexperienced. Many were ‘young girls’ with ‘long nails’ and didn’t know what to do. In consequence, it is claimed, many died who could have been saved.
Desertions Mounting
I have seen a number of reports claiming that newly mobilised Ukrainian troops are deserting whenever the opportunity arises - according to Ukrainian officers. Many recruits who are sent to to the front for the first time either refuse to fight, or leave their units and try to find a way out. This is due in part to the lack of rotation and the sheer power of the Russian onslaught. 19,000 cases of desertion were filed in the first four months of 2024 but this report suggests the figures are higher because commanders prefer to deal with desertions ‘in house’. This Ukrainian source also highlighted the increasing desertion problem. It claims that 90% of new recruits don’t want to fight, have zero motivation and when placed under pressure desert their posts. Everyone hates the Zelensky government, they say. They are also outgunned and outnumbered which doesn’t help with motivation. The absence of a full pay cheque will not help matters. CNN writes about it here. A Ukrainian source suggests that the number of desertions in the first four months of this year was more than three times the above figure and that 130,000 have deserted since the start of the SMO. Sputnik has a short article about the problem here.
Water Catastrophe?
According to a Ukrainian source, there are problems with the water/river system in Ukraine which the authorities are trying to hide:
An ecological water catastrophe is brewing in Ukraine. Water from the Seim River, where the fish die-off occurred, flows into the Desna, and then into the Dnieper, which threatens the capital. As they say, it all began when the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured the territory of the Kursk region and something happened there (or in the Sumy region), which the people are not told about. It is clear that the problems are large-scale, since they started trying to distract people in this way.
According to another source, it may not be possible to purify the water so Kiev could be without a main water supply before very long. However, according to legitimniy, the authorities will either tell people the water is safe or fill it with harmful chemicals - so they advised against drinking tap water.
Soldiers Denied Funerals
It seems that some priests in Ukraine are refusing funeral services to fallen soldiers because they were baptized in the now banned Ukrainian Orthodox Church. You can see the priest explaining this to his flock here.
Blinken Withholds Funding For 2025
Anthony Blinken has told poor Z that the US will not fund Ukraine in 2025 unless it comes up with a ‘clear plan of action’ to defeat Russia. Oh Dear.
Gloomy Predictions
A Ukrainian source is claiming that the many miscalculations of the Zelensky regime will result in the following:
A) black winter in Ukraine (large-scale or minimal, time will tell).
B) increase in the number of deserters (SZCh). Collapses of the front due to mass flight/surrender of entire units.
C) A decline in the morale of the army and society. An increase in negativity towards the authorities.
D) loss of a huge amount of territory.
E) the continuation of the flight of people from Ukraine.
F) economic and social crisis. Risk of Maidan.
G) increasing devastation in the country.
H) risk of default.
Don’t Let Our Kids Leave
In spite of all this, Dmitry Korchinsky, a veteran Ukrainian nationalist, believes that children should not be allowed to leave Ukraine during the conflict because staying home will permit them to develop a hatred of Russia:
Ukrainian children must not hear Polish or German in their environment. They must be brought up to the sound of air sirens, grow up here hating the enemy. They must mature here, in Ukraine….If somebody does not understand that he must love Ukraine, we will make him love Ukraine, whether he likes it or not. We’ll force him to stay and either fight or support the front.
This is necessary, he said because ‘we are not fighting for democracy, we are fighting for survival’. This is nonsense, of course. Ukrainians don’t face extermination, though some its rulers may do so. But when this is all over, people will start acting as people do in peacetime and for the most part they will get along. Hey Dmitry: If you fight for your survival but lose your humanity will it have been worth it? Just a thought.
Olga Appointed
Olga Stefanishyna, who has been accused of corruption, has been appointed Minister of Justice and Deputy Prime Minister for European integration of Ukraine. The accusations of corruption were essential requirements for the post.
The People Fight Back
Resistance Movement?
In previous Updates, I have reported on several incidents/fires in Europe where it is suspected that sabotage was involved. I have just heard that some people believe that a pro-Russian Ukrainian group operating both inside and outside of Ukraine may be involved. According to this source:
The movement's participants are not only involved in setting fire to transport in the TCC in Ukraine, but also work very effectively outside of its borders. We have already recorded several dozen proven cases of destruction of military and humanitarian aid, as well as logistical, infrastructure and other facilities in Germany, Bulgaria, Poland and Moldova, which were involved in one way or another in the conflict in Ukraine.
This report claims that cars destined for Ukraine containing helmets and bullet proof vests have been burned in Denmark. But I have no way of confirming this. The video shown here could have been fabricated.
Jacques Baud talks about a pro-Russian resistance movement operating in Ukraine on Daniel Davis’s show - as you can see here.
More Car Burning in Ukraine
On the 7th September, a military car was burned down in Kiev as you can see here. On the 8th September, in Dnepropetrovsk, the car used by the head of the nursing services of the 93rd Kholodny Yar brigade, was burned out as you can see here. The car had been used for combat missions.
Z On Tour
Z in Italy
On September 7th, at the Ambrosetti International Forum in Italy, Zelensky had this to say:
With the Kursk operation, it was very important to open the eyes of some leaders, analysts, so that they understood Putin's true motives. He seeks to annihilate us. He did not move forces to protect these people, children [in Kursk]. That doesn't matter to Putin. He continued to occupy and pummel our villages, kill our people.
Why, oh once great Z, did the children in Kursk need Putin’s protection. Surely, the Ukrainians would not hurt children, would they? But we all know that only the Ukrainians (along with the Israelis) deliberately kill women and children.
Z at Rammstein
A Ukrainian delegation, including the once great Z, met at the US air base in Rammstein-Miesenbach, Germany, this week along with their NATO partners to discuss the war. Naturally, the Ukrainians demanded more missiles, ammunition and aircraft, according to this Ukrainian source. Zelensky’s attempt to ‘sell’ the Kursk offensive fell on deaf ears, or so these Ukrainians have been told. But it appears that Z was not given permission to use US missiles to strike at targets deep into Russia. The UK and France, however, have given their permission. I think it is possible that the US is playing a game of cat and mouse here but will eventually give Ukraine permission to use their long range missiles against targets deep in Russia.
Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Ryabkov appears to agree with me:
US statements that they are working to lift restrictions on Kiev's strikes with American weapons deep into Russia are part of a psychological war.
Putin threats to the West (see above) are also part of that war.
Z to Washington
Z is due to meet with Biden on Saturday 14th September to show him his ‘victory plan’ in which the US will be asked to instruct Russia to negotiate based on the 1991 borders. What a waste of time.
Half a Million Men To Invade Crimea in Spring
Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the Mykolaiv underground, said that Zelensky is preparing an "invasion army" of 500,000 to attack Russia's Black Sea region in the spring - as reported in Pravda. The hopium is getting less and less believable by the day.
Ukraine Terrorist Attacks (those that target civilians)
7th/8th September
According to the Two Majors, Shebekino district in Belgorod was attacked overnight. One man was injured when a drone attacked his car and another three civilians were injured by shelling. In the village of Nikolskoye, three civilians, including two children, were injured by drone attacks. Meanwhile, in Gorlovka (DPR) five civilians were injured by cluster munitions.
8th/9th September
Overnight, many villages came under drone attack and shelling in Belgorod region where damage was caused to dwellings, cars and some business premises. However, no casualties were reported. People in the long suffering DPR were not so fortunate. In Makeyevka, three people were injured by fragments of a missile destroyed by air defences, while in Gorlovka three people were injured by drone attack and cluster munitions launched from artillery. According this report, the Ukrainians are still lobbing missiles and drones at the vulnerable Kurchatov Nuclear Power Plant in Kursk - which is scary.
9th/10th September - Massive Drone Attack
Overnight, according to the Two Majors, the Ukrainians launched a massive drone attack over many Russian regions including Moscow where a woman was killed in a multi-storey building. In Belgorod, three civilians were injured by MLRS fire while in Gorlovka (DPR) a teenager was injured by a kamikaze drone. Elsewhere in the DPR, 40 rounds of 155mm ammunition were fired at civilian targets but only one casualty was reported. The Military Chronicle reported that a total of 150 drones were deployed: 75 over Bryansk; 20 over Moscow; 14 over Kursk; 13 over Tula and 8 over Belgorod. Drones also struck Lipetsk and Kaluga regions. According to this report around 144 drones were shot down and the fragments from these caused some damage. According to Tass, a nine year old boy was killed by a drone strike in Ramenskoye (Moscow Region). However, some reports, claim that the boy still lives. 54 apartments were damaged during the attack on Ramenskoye. You can see some images here.
10th/11th September
Many villages in Kherson region were shelled overnight injuring three civilians while in the DPR two people were injured by ‘barrel artillery'. Ramenskoye was also attacked with kamikaze drones.
11th/12th September
According to the Majors, a number of villages in Belgorod were attacked with artillery and drones overnight. Damage was caused to several houses and a lorry but only two people were injured. Meanwhile, in Gorlovka (DPR), a woman was killed by ‘barrel artillery’. Later on the 12th September, the Ukrainians targeted another market: this time in Nova Kakhovka (Kherson). Eleven shells hit the market killing one and injuring another eight. Two are in a serious condition. You can see some images here.
12th/13th September
According to the Two Majors, six ‘aircraft type’ drones were shot down over Bryansk Region while villages in Belgorod came under shelling, causing some damage but no casualties. In the DPR, one man was killed and another two injured by a drone drop on their car.
The Sea War
10th/11th September
Overnight, the Ukrainians launched a daring attack a Russian ‘platform’ (i.e. drilling rig) located 70 km north west of the Crimean coast. Military aircraft destroyed ten landing craft along with their crews though some managed to escape.
The Air War
Russian Missile/Drone Attacks
6th/7th September
According to Rybar:
Russian forces attacked enemy targets with drones in the Lviv Region, and struck an industrial zone in Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk Region. In the Kharkiv Region, strikes were carried out on railway infrastructure.
7th/8th September
Overnight, the Russians launched a large drone attack on Kiev city using Geraniums. Some drone fragments fell near the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) building and were displayed to the press. Also in Kiev, the premises of a logistics company storing cargo for the Ukraine war was destroyed as you can see here. Explosions were also heard in Poltava and Yurovka where it is thought that KH-59 missiles were deployed, according to the Military Chronicle. In Kramatorsk, a strongly fortified city west of Siversk, the Zorya Hotel was demolished by an Iskander killing many Ukrainian combatants, according to Slavyangrad. Another report claimed that in Poltava, the railway station at Suprunovka was set alight and a train was hit at Abazovka railway section.
10th/11th September
Warehouses containing large quantities of NATO materiel were destroyed in Kiev region overnight. Pro-Russian forces operating underground helped to locate the target.
11th/12th September
According to the Two Majors:
During the night, the RFAF engaged at least 60 Geran UAVs. The Starokonstantinov Airfield in Khmelnitsky region and the Konotop Airfield in Sumy region were hit. Missile weapons hit targets at the airfield in Nezhyn, Chernigov region. There were reports of explosions in Kiev, Poltava, Cherkassy, Dnepropetrovsk regions.
Eight ballistic missiles were launched against Dobropolye (near Pokrovsk) causing the damage you can see here.
12th/13th September
According to the Majors:
At least two dozen "Geranium" UAVs struck the enemy's rear areas at night. Explosions were reported in Odessa, Ilyichevsk, Nikolayev, Kherson, Zaporozhye, IvanoFrankovsk and Vinnitsa regions.
Ukrainian Missile/Drone Attacks
6th/7th September
Last night, a Ukrainian drone was detected and suppressed by electronic warfare systems in the Ostrogozhsk District of Voronezh Region. In spite of this, a fire broke out which spread to ‘explosive objects’ - possibly an ammunition dump - and a village was evacuated. You can see some footage of the fire here.
8th/9th September
Overnight, a drone set a fuel storage facility alight near the village of Volokonovsky, Belgorod region but no casualties were reported. You can see the smoke in this short vid.
The Ground War
The Fronts
Russian MoD Reports
Weekly Reports
w/e 23rd August 16,155 Casualties killed and wounded: equipment losses 739
w/e 30th August 16, 910 Casualties killed and wounded): equipment losses 737.
w/e 6th September 16,215 Casualties killed and wounded: equipment losses 602.
w/e 13th September 16,960 Casualties killed and wounded (record high): equipment losses 693.
Kursk
Th Ukrainians are losing between 300 and 350 killed and wounded per day in Kursk - so the total weekly casualties are close to 20,000 - clearly an unsustainable figure for the Ukrainians.
Front Line Cats
This week, there has been a dearth of information regarding some sections of the front and an abundance in others. In many areas the Russians are moving fairly quickly so it is difficult to keep up. I will therefore concentrate on the most important Directions this week.
Kursk
Heroic Ukrainians Capture Supermarket in Kursk
It’s not quite the Reichstag of 19451 is it - but Ukraine must take whatever battlefield ‘honours’ it can grasp. The ‘brave warriors’ pictured above captured a defenceless supermarket, then they abused it by stealing from it, vandalising it and scrawling graffiti over its walls. But then these ‘warriors’; their blood lust rising, were so proud of their noble deed that they pictured themselves celebrating their ‘victory’.
Many of us will see this as more than pathetic because there is nothing to boast about here. This applies to the Kursk ‘incursion’ as a whole. The Ukrainians, along with Western mercenaries, attacked a peaceful area where the citizens had no idea they were about to become victims of the war. Then the Ukrainian soldiers shamed themselves by shooting at civilians, on the streets, in their houses and in their cars. They also humiliated some and took them as hostages. They even used civilians as human shields, according to Russian commander Alti Alaudinov. And they filmed themselves looting supermarkets. These people are more like vandals than soldiers. It’s not very heroic is it.
On the 9th September, Yury Podolyaka provided this report:
Russian forces are gradually gaining the initiative, especially on the flanks, attempting to encircle the Ukrainian grouping and threaten it from all sides. This is significant as Ukraine has withdrawn its elite units from the area, gradually replacing them with reinforcement units. Even in the central area, from Malaya Loknya to Martynovka, Ukrainian attacks are losing momentum. All signs suggest Ukraine may face trouble here soon.
On September 9th, the Ukrainians were evacuating civilians from the Sumy region and began to dig in. According this this source, the Ukrainians were expecting a Russian counter-attack into this region following the failure of the Kursk offensive and they didn’t have long to wait.
Russian Counter-Offensive Kursk
On the 10th/11th September, according to a Ukrainian source, the Russians launched a counter offensive from the west with 40,000 men, taking advantage of Ukrainian troop transfers to the east. According to this report, Gordeyevka, Vnezapnoye, Viktorovka, Byakhovo, Apanasovka, Oktyabr-10, Vishnevka, Komarovka and Krasnooktyabrskoye have been liberated. You can read more at the Military Chronicle.
By the end of the week, the Russians were attacking in the direction of Korenovsky District, Lyubimovka and Zeleny Shlyakh, the capture of which would allow them to cut supplies to the Ukrainian group on the northern flank. On the 12th September, the Russians entered Lyubimovka directly while some forces by passed the village towards Tolsty Lug. For days, the Ukrainians have attempted to break through the border to Glushkovsky District (see Glushkovo on map) but have failed, according to the Military Chronicle. They have also been pushed back from Korenovo. The village of Snagost was liberated on the 13th September.
According to an Ukrainian source, Syrsky is due to meet with his commanders this week to discuss a change in strategy in Kursk having come to the realisation that the ground will be difficult to hold in cold weather. But the once great Z has announced that the Russian counter-offensive is all part of the plan.
In the interests of perspective and scale, I should say that the forces involved in the Kursk Direction are relatively small. Alexander Mercouris, claims that Ukrainian attacks involve no more than 100 men. The casualty figures, at 300-350 a day, fit with this judgement. Other Directions are experiencing much higher casualty rates which total approximately 2,500 a day.
Kupyansk
According to Geroman:
In the Kupyansk direction, our guys continue to expand the control zone to the west of Peschanoye. Russian fighters are also approaching Kruglyakovka, which is located on the bank of the Oskol.
Chasov Yar
The Russians are still operating within the Kanal micro District and are attacking on the western outskirts of Kalinovka - according to Marat Khairullin.
Toretsk
According to Geroman:
In Toretsk, our fighters are advancing along Centralnaya Street deep into the urban development. There are also battles in the Nelepovka area.
Pokrovsk
A report from a Ukrainian source highlights the problem of recruiting ‘reluctant warriors’:
Under pressure from the Russians, the recruited “new” units are starting to disperse due to weak motivation and morale. It was for this reason that Azov was sent to the Pokrovsk direction to hold back the collapse. There is a risk that with prolonged pressure from the Russian Armed Forces, the entire defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will collapse due to the fact that there are a huge number of people in the army who were driven in by force and do not want to fight.
On September 10th, Slavyangrad reported that:
Russian forces have driven a wedge in the Selidovo/Pokrovsk area and have begun storming the outskirts of Lysovka, through which they have actually begun bypassing the Pokrovsk fortification rather than assaulting it head-on.
This makes sense and is typical of the Russian tactical approach hitherto.
On the 11th September, the village of Grodovka was liberated. By the end of the week, the Russians were clearing Ukrainsk while fighting on the eastern outskirts of Selidovo in an attempt to surround the city and take it in a vice. Fighting was also taking place in Sukhoi Yar and Lysovka - according to Geroman.
Uhledar Direction
Uhledar - Detail
On the 12th, the village of Vodyanoye came under Russian fire control. By the end of the week fighting was taking place in Prechistovka and Zolotaya Niva but the pace had noticeably slowed.
Zaporozhye
According to the Two Majors, in the area of Malaya Tokmachka:
We are systematically moving forward, identifying the Ukrainian dugouts and we are working on them with drops. The enemy continues to accumulate reserves near the Dnieper, and is concentrating forces both near Kamenskoye and towards Ilyinka, opposite Energodar, which the Nazis have begun to shell more actively. Apparently, they are gathering artillery and UAV crews on the shore.
Kherson
It is reported that the Ukrainians are collecting forces here but there is no forward movement from either side.
Weeb Union provides a brief but informative Sitrep here for those who can spare 13 minutes to get oriented.
The Economic War
EU Economy Collapsing
In his report to the European Commission, former President of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi warned of a looming economic collapse in the EU. He summed up the situations as follows:
To digitalize and decarbonise the economy and increase our defense capacity, the investment share in Europe will have to rise by around 5 percentage points of GDP. This is unprecedented: for comparison, the additional investments provided by the Marshall Plan between 1948-51 amounted to around 1-2% of GDP annually.
This will be tough for economies already suffering from a self-imposed energy crisis. You can read more at RT.
UK Economy Flatlines for Second Month in a Row
According to the Guardian, the UK economy has shown no growth in the past two months even though economists were expecting a post election bounce to 0.2%.
World Politics
Scholtz Turns Peacemaker
In a recent interview Olaf Scholtz, following on from Zelensky’s call for another peace conference, said that ‘now is the time to get out of war’. Incorrect dear Olaf, March 2022 was the time to get out of war. I wonder whether this announcement has anything to do with the elections results? However, it seems that the Brazilian ambassador to Ukraine has urged him to ‘kick off diplomatic negotiations with Russia’. The ambassador may be aware of the coming/ongoing collapse in the Donbass. You can see more here.
In spite of being hammered in the Regional Elections, Olaf Scholtz demonstrated a typical Western tendency to ignore reality when he announced that the SPD would turn it all around before the national elections:
I firmly believe that the Social Democratic Party of Germany and I will have such a strong mandate in 2025 that we will be able to lead the next government
A recent poll showed that only 23% of Germans would vote for him.
Poor Scholtz, he shares the neo-liberal conviction, hubristic in nature, that when things should be the case they will be the case, even if this is physically impossible.
Trump
Donald J has shown himself to be sane at least, unlike many of his fellow US politicians, because he has realised that sanctions on Russia ‘are killing the dollar and everything it represents’. So, he has said that he will lift sanctions on Russia if elected.
At another campaign rally in Wisconsin, he had asked why the Biden Administration had been so obsessed with Russia:
Three days ago, it started again. The Justice Department said that Russia is interfering in our elections again. Russia. Russia. Russia. Not a single phone call has been made to Russia in 2.5 years. It’s like it doesn’t exist, except for the blocking of its gas pipeline, which these people approved. And then the other day, the attorney general said that Russia is back in focus. And I said, “Oh, not that again.” Russia, Russia, Russia, over and over. And no attention to China or Iran. They only look at Russia. I don’t know what they’re harassing poor Russia for. It’s very, very, very strange. And by the way, if I were president, Russia would never have attacked Ukraine. It would never have happened.
The phrase ‘which these people approved’ is quite an admission that you will not hear from a Democrat. Trump is certainly putting himself out on a limb here and you have to give him credit for it.
Trump also announced that he would impose 100% tariffs on the goods of countries that will not conduct transactions in the dollar. Trump realises that the dollar is ‘under major siege’ and is trying to do something about it. I don’t think Biden ever mentioned the problem - did he?
So, while Trump is demonstrating that he holds adult status, dealing with adult concerns, Cackling Kamala is complaining about the colour of Starbucks cups.
Bonkers Britain
Sorry, I had to do a Bonkers Britain section this week as Russophobia explodes in the press. Those who read this Update may appreciate how deluded these headlines are. Arrests for Facebook posts continue, prisoners are being released from jail to make way for those arrested at protests and a Labour Government has deprived me and many other pensioners of our $300 winter fuel allowance when this money could have been raised from people who can more easily afford it. Meanwhile, British taxpayers are sending £800 million to Ukraine as part of the latest aid package and Starmer is considering taking our free bus passes away. Shame on you Starmer: shame on you Labour.
Putin Invites Brits to Russia
On the 19th August, Putin signed a decree that would provide humanitarian aid to Brits who shares Russia’s spiritual and moral values and want a move to Russia. According to this report, 17 British citizens have applied to the Russian Consulate seeking advice on how to proceed. Many have been motivated to do so because they are fed up with Woke ideology.
Protests
‘Free Palestine!’ - 1 Million Brits Demonstrate in London
‘Stop all arms to Israel’, the crowd chanted. You can see some footage here.
Où est la démocratie?
Following Macron’s decision to appoint Michelle Barnier as PM, 26,000 people protested against what they see as a coup d’etat. They want Macron out - Now!
Tel Aviv
Half a million Israelis took to the streets on Saturday 7th September demanding that the government secure a deal for releasing the hostages immediately. You can read more at Sputnik. Freed Russian hostage, Andrei Koslov, addressed the crowd:
We must demand that our leaders not miss the chance... we must not forget about the hostages... their time is running out, we see and feel it. Bring them home now.
Brazilians Protest Against X Ban
Lula and his Supreme Court Justice, Alexander de Moraes believe that:
X is a platform for dangerous, false, and hateful words, they say, and many of those words violate Brazil's laws and Constitution.
According to Zero Hedge:
….their censorship goes far beyond what Brazil's constitution allows. The government demanded that X and other social media networks censor and ban individual people, including journalists and politicians. Such bans are immoral, illegal, and unconstitutional. They constitute election interference and undermine democracy by preventing candidates from getting the word out.
The Brazilian administration is making an assumption that hate speech inevitably leads to violence, which is nonsense. Journalist, Michael Shellenberger, quoted by Zero Hedge, suggested that Lula himself has engaged in hate speech against Musk and Bolsonaro (who featured prominently at the demo - see photo).
The emerging Multi-Polar World Order
China and North Korea Deepen Ties
On the occasion of North Korea’s 76th anniversary, Xi Jing Ping sent a congratulatory telegram to Kim Jong Un:
In the new period, in the new situation, the Chinese side will continue to pay attention to Chinese-Korean relations at the strategic level and from a long-term perspective. And it is ready to deepen strategic understanding with the Korean side, strengthen coordination and cooperation, jointly reliably protect, firmly strengthen and dynamically develop Chinese-Korean relations of friendship and cooperation.
The relationship between the two countries has been less than harmonious over the years but this shows a determination to make things better.
Lavrov Visits Riyadh
Sergei Lavrov arrived in Riyadh on the 8th September to attend a meeting of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Bilateral meetings probably discussed the conflict in the Middle East - according to Sputnik. In an interview, Lavrov addressed the issue of negotiations and criticised the West for failing to see that the conflict is about the rights of people rather than an exchange of territory. "Donald the Statesman" - while threatening to impose 100% tariffs on the entire world. LOL That's a joke, which fits the circus the US elections are. When two absolute morons are the only candidates for President, stick a fork in the US - it's done. The only remaining question is whether it ends in a nuclear holocaust or collapses in an internal holocaust. Take your pick. It's over.
