I think you will all appreciate that these are momentous times that have given birth to some momentous events, so I felt I had to write something about this historic day - if only briefly. In what some will see as the most important event of the century, Donald J Trump was elected as the 47th President of the United States. This was a massive achievement - as many will understand. But more important than Trump’s victory, was the US electorate’s rejection of the globalist/Wokist/Climate Catastrophist ‘Democratic’ Party. The populist spirit that allowed Trump to win is much more important than the man himself. Trump will be gone in four years but the populist spirit will continue to grow - not just in America but throughout the Western world. I am not convinced by the idea that the people (generally) see Trump as some messianic figure who can save them. I have followed the campaigning of several MAGA groups1 in three elections now and these people are not simply hero worshippers; they know what they want out of life, they know how they want to live it and they see Trump as a vehicle through which they can achieve their aspirations.
The Republicans won the Presidency, the electoral college vote, the popular vote, the Senate and may take the House. They had to ‘win big so that it can’t be rigged’ - and they won big. They also won in spite of the odds stacked against them by the legacy media and Democrat politicians peddling a range of dirty tricks and lies. They won in spite of efforts to disable Trump legally, morally and physically. So, I would like to congratulate the American people for seeing through the BS and ridding us of one of the most incompetent, bellicose, reactionary and backward regimes we have ever had the misfortune to encounter. I would also like to congratulate Trump himself for having the strength, courage, single mindedness and stubbornness to fend off all that has been thrown at him. He deserves credit for this. At times, it seemed that there was no space left for the Democrats to drive nails in Trump’s cross - but they carried on regardless, right to the end. And they will continue.
So what happens now? - many will ask. One of my subscribers said that if we want an answer to that question, we should look to Trump’s first term. During those four years, Trump was far from perfect and the episodes regarding the attempted regime change in Venezuela and the murder of Soleimani are examples of things he got badly wrong. But he talked about pulling US troops out of many places around the world, and he wanted out of NATO. Moreover, he did not start any wars. He also wanted the medical profession to use Ivermectin to treat Covid when many were trying to prevent this and he believes the world is cooling (which appeals to me).
So I don’t go along with many who say that Trump will make no difference, which smacks of nihilism to me. I think he - and the people around him - will make a difference but I would not like to predict how big a difference they will make. Those out there who still hate Trump will not be able to celebrate in spite of the many positive things that have now been brought to the table and the negative things that have been swept to the floor. In spite of Trump’s failings, he has played his part in an achievement which we should celebrate - and I am celebrating with a single malt. I think we should see this as a victory for people or for common sense or for the ability of human beings to overcome the propaganda that is thrown at them. Essentially though, it is a victory for the people.
In the past, I have been criticised for what people see as my support for Trump but those who have read me carefully will appreciate that for me Trump is simply an expression of a populist movement that has the potential to change the world for the better. And I am hopeful that it will succeed. Best Wishes - Rob
Including ‘Paint The Trump’.
Trump will not be good for the environment, but might just know better how to 'drain the swamp' this time around. He was snookered by the MIC at every turn last time, and they, in fact, may well have been the perpetrators of Solemeini's assassination. His unbated support of Israel was also reprehensible. However, he has some interesting people around him who might help him be more successful in taking on the Deep State this time around. JD Vance, weirdly evangelical that he is, is VERY bright, and was groomed by the Repugs from his college days.
The other really interesting person close to Trump is his 17-yr-old son Barron. He became mates with a boy of a similar age who is an influencer, and the two of them worked hard and mobilised millions of Gen X-ers to get out and vote. Who knew that this was happening? He was wearing an interesting tie on the victory podium, too. Navy blue with red stripes. I have no idea of his politics, but think that he is exceedingly bright and could soon start to wag the dog. I believe that he is a lot brighter than Harris, Walz, or Trump.
The Globalists are screaming blue murder, and 'inflation', about Trump's vow to re-introduce tariff protectionism. Dropping tariffs led to the de-industrialization of the US, UK, Australia, etc. Here in Oz our manufacturing sector went from employing 22% of the workforce to <8%. Making massive profits for the multinationals on the back of cheap Asian labour. It caused the wealth gap to keep on widening in the intervening years. Little wonder that the DNC has received the bulk of corporate sponsorship and MSM patronage. If Trump can improve this, and reduce the MIC budget, he will do well for the US economy.
Pty help women with unwanted pregnancies, though.
We live in interesting times.
I think his first administration had one huge success, albeit a painful one, namely that he exposed the widespread, endemic nature of corruption in the US Body Politic, aka the 'Deep State' whose tentacles reach across many public and private sector areas. In this context, the blatant election theft in 2020 followed by outrageously petty and mean-spirited demonization and prosecutions only served to deepen the lessons already learned, albeit perhaps only dimly appreciated. This election yesterday marks a type of redemption arc, a deeply satisfying narrative that puts Trumps on the level of living Icon in the culture, both locally and internationally.
So to me what matters now is the degree he can use this considerable political capital (also manifest as powerful enemies arrayed against him) to effect substantive reform. He has been floating notions like eliminating the Income Tax, and Elon has invited Ron Paul onto his committee and today Congressman Massie, who will be the new Sec of Ag invited the famous free range farmer Joel Salatin to serve as one of six official Advisors to the Secretary'.
This is potentially the most dynamic Administration in the history of the nation. Only living Icons can do this sort of thing and he is one.
Interesting times.
