Excellent piece of work, thanks. So much happening every week. The arrest of the Romanian lad was a reminder, if one was needed, of the dark path Europe is currently taking. 'There's a bad moon on the rise' is perhaps more apt.
The MI6 dealing Ukraine (ports, nuclear facilities, etc) flew completely under the radar, but it does explain why Starmer has promised to commit $3 billion a year to Ukraine for the next decade, and keeps talking up a continuation of the war. In spite of the niceties of the recent Trump-Starmer meeting, and that 'unprecedented' royal invitation, these two dogs will be fighting over the Ukraine bone in future, neither admitting that Russia already has its dibs on it.
This week there was a poignant photoshopped picture of Putin showing Trump a plateful of hazelnuts, the weapon that has the collective west snookered.
Prefab housing has been rolling in to Gaza from Egypt, but Israel and Egypt's wish that Hamas stay out of Gazan government if a two state solution gets off the ground, has a snowball's chance in hell of getting up.
I just hope that Nasrallah's funeral has consolidated the Axis of Resistance to be more hardline.
I think it may be three dogs after the same bone because the French want a deal also. I agree about being more hardline. I am disappointed that the Iranians didn't demonstrate what they can do - as they promised.
What a coincidence that if you get under 5 % of vote in German elections, the votes go basically straight into garbage bin. And BSW got 4,972 % ... Riiiiiiight.
Germany probably would not be in position to send any more weapons easily to Ukraine if BSW would have gotten to that 5 % mark, so lets say that I'm extremely skeptical of the result.
Plus EU 'leaders' and their 16th package of kicking their own ankle, are they going to import that aluminum now the same way they import Russian oil these days , through India as a middle man who takes 10 % profit + huge transport costs on top when you have to ship that oil from India instead to from Russia directly.
Thanks Rob. It's been an extraordinary week in ways I never thought possible. I really don't understand the ego of Zelensky. He seems to think that he is running the world and everyone is waiting with bated breath for the next pearl of wisdom from the genius from Kiev. I used to think that it was an act but I reckon that he really does think that he is the most important person on the planet.
The Press Conference of the Century as you correctly labeled it was just gob-smacking and I would not have believed it except that it there for all to see. Zelensky seems totally oblivious to his real place in the pecking order.
Trump is playing a shameful role but is trying to cut the losses and I think he is seriously interested in peace with the Russians if only to free up resources to line up China.
None of the vassals take any notice of Kissinger's dictum "that to be an enemy of America is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal". They have been warned but have totally lost it as Trump underlines that truth. Amazing.
I didn't mean to imply that the proposed Space cooperation with Musk involved Gazprom - these are separate issues. Putin was at a Gazprom venue when he said it. Glad you like the cats. Cheers.
Thanks for your weekly update Dr. Campbell.....I really appreciate the summaries from your perspective as a Euro-adjacent observer. The content at MoA is good too though over the years the signal to noise ratio has suffered. Your take provides value from a perspective that "Americans" don't often see. I can't fathom the degree of open corruption in the EU, right out in the open.....of course the Biden administration was even worse. Also, love your front line cats feature...keep up the good work and if we ever meet in meatspace I'd love to buy you a coffee or a wee dram of "water of life".
Glad you like the cats - they are important! There is a good signal to noise ratio on here. People are asking me to do coffees but sharing and good comments are more important. Thanks.
Thanks for you work Rob. Do you have a tip jar/buy me a coffee option? I havent noticed one but I mainly read the emails and am not a frequent substack visitor. I use that option to sometimes kick in for Simplicius.
The Kursk area battle is a giant firebag now that the RF can dominate the Yunakivka-Sudzha road.
I have just seen the White house meeting between Trump and Zelensky as well.
Zelensky's exploits showed his true character in arguing with Trump in the White House.
Trump somehow kept his patience during the meeting but the damage to Zelensky and the Ukronazi interests from that meeting is huge.
I think unless Zelensky is deposed and Bandera overthrown they plan on fighting to the last civilian.
Its also interesting that the cutting of US aid to Ukraine will take a long time before its effects will be seen on the battlefield.
I read an article the other day (simplicus substack?) that the military weapons and technology given by the US etc doesn't make that much of a difference in the war now. Which is mostly WW1 type fighting with infantry.
If you compare that to WW2 from the Bagration offensive in 1944 the Axis powers still almost lasted another year before the fall of Berlin and caused another few million soviet casualties even though defeat was inevitable.
This could go on a lot longer unless Europe bails.
I've just been watching the press conference and reading the MoA comments. Wow! I published too early so it seems. I think Zelensky was set up for a fall in front of the cameras but the event wasn't staged as some believe. There was no script. Elsewhere Rubio gave some hints about cutting NATO funding but nothing has been done yet. I agree with Pete: something could happen this weekend. I'll have a look at what the Ukrainian Telegram channels are saying. Interesting times eh!
very interesting times Rob. It is also obvious that cocaine and politics don't work very well together!
But on second thoughts do you think that it is possible that Z was only following orders from his European sycophants?
In order to deepen the chasm between the US/possible peace deal and the global warmongers to continue the war and keep to their plan of trying to weaken Russia?
I have long pondered on the degree of autonomy Zelensky enjoys. Not so long ago the US and the globalists in Europe were on the same side - so it was fairly certain that the Deep State was pulling his strings - but not entirely. At times he seemed to be 'going rogue' and not necessarily serving his masters' interests. My own view, which I have expressed on the Update, is that his own survival - politically and maybe physically - is bound up with the continuation of the conflict. I am not sure how the Ukrainian Nazis would respond to Zelensky accepting negotiations - they may kill him. However, it is possible that they are realising that without US help they can't possibly win. I have seen evidence of one or two of these people taking this realist position. Zelensky is courting the globalist Europeans but he must know that they can do nothing without the US in spite of their pathetic bravado. So, I don't think that Zelensky would take orders from anyone that would place his own life in danger. But his own interests are coincidental with those of the warmongering Europeans - so he may not actually be following their orders as such: he and they want the same things. I also believe that the situation on the fronts will have the greatest impact on events. If the Ukrainians start collapsing - as they could in Kursk or Pokrovsk Directions, for example, this will impact politically in Ukraine and could force Zelensky out. If supplies are reduced, this could also lead to a collapse. I am watching the Ukrainian Telegram channels closely. Some Ukrainians believe that Zelensky will create a false flag event to draw the Americans in. But I have just heard that the Compressor Station on the Turkstream at Kuban has been targeted with drones once again. They were all shot down on this occasion.
Excellent piece of work, thanks. So much happening every week. The arrest of the Romanian lad was a reminder, if one was needed, of the dark path Europe is currently taking. 'There's a bad moon on the rise' is perhaps more apt.
I used to sing that song - many years ago - and it is apt. Cheers.
Good stuff, Rob. Thanks for compiling. Appreciate the labor.

Suspiciously tight that vote. More own goals from the irrelevants.

Thanks for that Chris. It was so gob-smackingly historical I had to write about.
I always enjoy looking at the photos of "frontline cats" on your blog.
Thank you for explaining why frontline soldiers keep cats—I didn’t know that.
By the way, does Gazprom engage in the space business as well as selling gas?
Perhaps the source of that information confused "Gazprom" with "Roscosmos"?
Roscosmos is the Russian state corporation responsible for space activities.
I didn't mean to imply that the proposed Space cooperation with Musk involved Gazprom - these are separate issues. Putin was at a Gazprom venue when he said it. Glad you like the cats. Cheers.
I see, thanks for the clarification!

The Ukrainians won't be in Kursk much longer. I haven't seen the Trump-Zelensky thing yet - something to look forward to. Cheers.

Very interesting times, indeed.
I believe the Zelenskyy’s days are numbered after this fiasco.
Zelensky has most tellingly lost Lindsey Graham one of the most vocal supporters of the Ukraine war effort.
A coup within the next few days is highly likely, most probably as soon as Sunday when he’s in London for talks with Starmer.
Yes Peter. It looks like Zelensky has served his usefulness. Will he be a target of the globalists or bandera. The clock is ticking.
Martial law, not marshall...
Of course it is thanks. Did I actually say Marshall - doh!
