Hey Dr Rob,

Thank you for saying what's in your heart.

I'm an american Army veteran who voted for trump twice.

And right now, I am near on sick from what his policies are allowing.

I share your indignation.

Thanks though for your outstanding efforts.

You do some good work

The end results are of Trumps actions to be determined. I see it as negotiating.

Will Trumps actions, perhaps a bit of kabuki, signal to the Arab world the U.S. is the strong horse again and deserves respect, after the Biden Administration’s prostration? I mention kabuki, since the U.S. had prior notice in the first administration of Iran's missile attack on the U.S. base in Iraq, resulting in no U.S. casualties in response to Qasem Soleimani, an Iranian major general assassination by the US.

And/Or that piracy / attacks against civilian ships will be punished. The U.S. has a long history of this, from the shores of Tripoli… U.S. marine corp hymn.

Or will the Houthis with Iranian military hardware embarrass the U.S. navy and cause it to flee?

I see 5 sides each trying increase their negotiation position.

- houthis

- Israel

- Hamas

- Iran

- U.S.

Trump, for domestic reasons, is trying to extricate the U.S. from U.S. overextension abroad of foreign entanglements such as the Middle East and Ukraine that are bleeding the U.S. economically. With understanding that is Trumps end goal, it helps to figure out what is probably actually happening.

Or perhaps Trump is going 100% Israel support by attacking the Houthis, due to their shipping threats, getting the U.S. into a no win military confrontation.

Thanks for that. We all look at the world through different perspectives and it is useful for us to share them. Trump's background as a businessman making deals - rather than a politician - must be taken into account.

US foreign policy is the bane of the world’s existence. Decades of bullying, war and death wherever it goes.

Look into the JFK document dump, there’s apparently lots of juicy tidbits about what the CIA has been doing and contemplating in recent history. Poisoning rice crops in “misbehaving” Asian countries was my personal favorite.

It all needs to be burned to the ground. Apparently, they can’t be trusted with making ethical decisions.

It's a mystery to me how these people think this is actually okay to do. That's some twisted rationalization of American exceptionalism.

Ooooor.....the profession just attracts pure sociopaths.

Don Dimentioni has been replaced by Don Piditu. He should be wary of a female Irish wolfhound named Karma. She's relentless.

I had to look that up Dude - Piditu is Sicilian for 'fart' is it not? Anyway, I would love to see a bit of Karma dished out to those who behind all this killing. Is the Irish wolfhound Clare Daly by any chance?

I don't know enough of Ms Daly to comment. Like yourself I needed an opportunity to express my emotions in the face of the don's double standards in the context of US gangsterism.

The wolfhound is related to the hounds of darkness or shadow from a series written by Steven Erikson under the generalised title of The Malazan Book of the Fallen.

Yes you are correct as to the translation.

When we thought things could not get worse the Israelis have abandoned the ceasefire in Gaza - killing about 200 innocents so far and depriving them of food.

Yes. It would seem that there is no hope with regard to the Occupation entity in Palestine. Their inability to understand the Islamic concepts of martyrdom and jihad - and real Faith in action - an ignorance, which of course they share with the gangsters in Byzantium DC suggests a look of complete surprise when they are forced to eat crow.

Cannot bring myself to tick the 'like'; but do appreciate your comment.

This is well summed up, I entirely agree with every word! Thank you so much for this prompt report. The situation is now very grave and Trump is showing that he is no better than his predecessors. There was some hope in him, but now it fades rapidly. He obviously lacks wisdom. Instead he is a narcissistic Zionist. It will be really interesting how his phone call with V.V.Putin will go.

Thanks Tilly - I suppose I had some hope in him but that's gone now. He may be doing some good things domestically but his foreign policy is a complete disaster. I'll be looking out for what Alastair Crooke has to say.

Thank you.

I would think one way for Russia and China to support Iran is to sign treaties to support each other in case one or other is attacked, somewhat similar to NATO article 5.

Naked Capitalism had an article on Sunday [?] about Why the Trump administration was so obsessed with shipping lanes.

Thanks Bill. Russia has that sort of reciprocal treaty with North Korea - so maybe its possible to do the same with Iran and China but it's a big step.

I remember when Trump 1.0 announced that the US was going to pull out of Syria. It didn't happen. The Pentagon just kept on with its destructiveness there.

It will be interesting to see what Elon's nerds turn up at the Pentagon. At present it still seems to be going on its own not-so-sweet way.

As for Yemen, they actually did send missiles and drones to attack the USS Harry Truman before the US retaliated. The MSM didn't report it, so we don't know how much damage was done. The Houthis have sent the Missouri and Rosevelt limping off, one can only hope that Truman follows them after this latest attack. The MSM is very shy of reporting damage to these ships.

The claims, by the US, that they were targeting Houthi leaders is, in my opinion, spurious. The same BS that Israel spouts every time it kills civilians. The Houthis are tunnelled underground, Just as Hamas has been since October 7th. Part of Soleimani's strategies that were carried out after Trump 1.0 had him murdered.

As with Lebanon the Yemeni population is solidly behind the Red Sea Blockades, and these are gutsy people who will prevail there.

Did you notice that Russia sent two oreshnik launchers to Belarus last week? With Iran drawing ever closer to Russia, in a trade and military alliance, you have to wonder if they too, will soon be able to launch hazelnuts.

Trump 2.0 is doing better on draining the swamp, but he is a mixed bag. A supreme opportunist, as his disgusting salivating over Gaza real estate shows.

Thanks Joy - the video by Jacques Baud is very informative of the Houthis and well worth a look. They, along with the Palestinians are very focused on Jihad - which actually means resistance. I follow Palestinian journalist Yousef Fares's Telegram channel and their idea of victory is simply to resist and prevail.

I agree Rob.

Being a world leader is one of the toughest jobs in the World.

Trump's actions, particularly in the middle east, seem so far removed from his words.

A lot of people in the world can see that but I guess that just makes them anti semitic in his eyes.
