It has been an eventful week which, for me at least, has been full of anticipatory tension. Red lines are being trampled as the world is waiting to see if and how the Russians will respond to the West’s permission for their weapons to be used by Ukraine on Russian territory (to kill Russian civilians). There are rumours that they have already done so by ‘jamming’ a NATO surveillance drone used to help ‘Stormshadows’ hit Russian ships in Sevastopol. Alexander Mercouris discusses it here. But Putin himself has said that Russia will respond by supplying weapons to the West’s opponents. Medvedev backed this up with a statement you can read in Tass. Both Medvedev and Peskov are now referring to the the West as its ‘enemy’. This is an escalatory move in itself. Larry Johnson has described this situation as ‘Russia flashing red’ which is an image appropriate to the seriousness of the current state of affairs. But at the SPIEF conference in St. Petersburg, Putin reassuringly told the Western press that talk of Russia attacking NATO is ‘bullshit’.
In the Middle East, the monstrous, ‘blood sucking’ Netanyahu continues his genocidal actions in the face of resistance from Hamas and Hezbollah and some concerned mutterings from the almost asleep Joe Biden. And in the Red Sea, the Houthis continue to humiliate the West with successful attacks on shipping including the aircraft carrier Eisenhower.
In the already ‘election crazed’ US of A, Donald Trump is becoming a Messiah like creature, destined to rise from the grave with the help of the ‘dollar love’ of his supporters. Since his ‘conviction’, his popularity has increased and his election coffers have bloated more than they have for any presidential candidate in history. It is by no means certain that he can stay out of jail.
The US congress, to its eternal shame, has voted to sanction the ICC for doing its job. The emerging Multi-World Order is watching in disbelief as the US underlines its status as the world’s number one bully.
In relation to the battlefronts of Ukraine, I have this sense of anticipation: that something big is going to happen. The cold statistics show that the Ukrainian casualties and materiel losses are increasing to pitiful levels. It’s obscene really. But such casualties cannot be sustained even in the presence of high morale - which doesn’t exist in the Ukrainian army. On the other hand, rumours of an extension to the Kharkov Russian offensive are still circulating.
Tensions among the Ukrainian elites appear to be growing and in some places the public are in open revolt against mobilisation: there have been some attacks on recruitment centres - as you can see here.
Elections have been held in South Africa and India where the ruling parties though retaining power have seen their support decline. And welcome back to Robert Fico who has returned to work after the attempt on his life. He forgave his attacker.
Finally, the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings was celebrated in France yesterday but the Russians, whose offensive in the east (Operation Bagration) assured the success of the mission, were not invited. The West’s ingratitude knows no bounds. During the celebrations, Sleepy Joe embarrassed himself by trying to sit on a chair that didn’t exist - as you can see here.
China-Russia Military Alliance?
This week, Spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of National Defence, Wu Qian, announced that:
The Chinese armed forces are ready to work together with the Russian army to fully implement the important consensus reached by the heads of the two states.
The armies of both countries, he said, are ready to work together to defend international justice and impartiality while making every effort to ensure international and regional security.
This is very interesting statement which, tantalisingly, leaves out detail about the ‘consensus’. But this cooperation between the two countries will take place within the framework of the UN and other important multilateral formats, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS.
Whether this counts as a military alliance is debatable but it is still an important development.
We’ll Win The War in Twenty Twenty Four
So says, Apti Alaudinov, deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the General Staff - as reported in Pravda. He also said that Russia is preparing for a decisive battle. Apti commands special forces unit Akhmat.
Westerners Have Always Operated Weapons In Ukraine!
It is becoming increasingly obvious that NATO people have been operating Western weapon systems in Ukraine from the beginning. Many of us have suspected this for a long time but now it seems to be all but admitted by the West. I touched on this a few weeks ago when Steven Bryen explained on the Duran that Western systems always come with flesh and blood operators. Scott ‘everyone will die’ Ritter , who was prevented from going to SPIEF, also does a good job of explaining it here.
The US appears to have given permission for Western weapons to be used inside Russia to combat the Russian offensive in Kharkov - but not the long range ATACMS and only in the Kharkov region (according to RT.) But airfields in Belgorod and Kursk will be fair game. But this week, ATACMS missiles have been used to attack and kill civilians in Lugansk (see below).
The US is saying that it is allowing this escalation because of the Russian Kharkov offensive but Putin has made it clear that this offensive is being conducted because the West has been allowing the Ukrainians to attack border regions such as Belgorod and Kursk. In fact, the West has been assisting in these attacks. So, Putin is creating a sanitary zone in order to prevent this. He also made it clear that if the West allows Ukraine to launch missiles deeper into Russian territory this zone will be extended deeper into Ukraine and may need to include Kiev itself.
Thus the idiotic actions of the West are actually pulling Russia deeper into Ukraine than they had originally intended. Alexander Mercouris discussed the matter here.
Germany is also allowing Ukraine to hit targets deep inside Russia claiming that providing weapons to Ukraine does not make it a participant in the conflict. That sounds reasonable but providing German operators to man these weapons does make them participants. Nordic countries have also given Ukraine permission to use the weapons they have provided to strike deep into Russia but if they are sending operators along with the weapons then the same point applies. RT has more here.
Brian Berletic, of the New Atlas, provides some good analysis relating to this and other things here. He points out that the West has been heavily involved in fighting this war on the ground since it began. The CIA, for example, was heavily involved in the coup and in the development of Ukraine’s military intelligence services and the SBU.
Brian also makes it clear that Ukraine is not a country in the sense that most of us think of as a country. It is more like a plaything; a sociological experiment that has employed many of Hitler’s Nazi practices. The Russians, or Russian speaking Ukrainians, were persecuted just as the Jews were in Germany during the 1930s. Nearly a decade ago, the people of the Donbass were told that their official language was now Ukrainian.
When the West claims that Ukraine has a right to defend itself, it neglects to mention that this is a proxy war with NATO using Ukraine to fight the Russians. The Ukrainians would be defenceless without NATO. The Ukrainians are also using Western satellite systems to guide the weapons onto their targets - so the West cannot reasonably claim that it is not involved - according to Sputnik.
Fyodor Lukyanov of the Valdai Discussion Club makes the same point and is urging Russia to make its red lines clear to the West - according to RT.
According to Alastair Crooke, Putin is prepared to tolerate short range missiles in the border areas but not long range missiles deep into Russian territory against strategic targets. Putin has warned that he will retaliate against the latter by targeting NATO facilities supporting these attacks including surveillance drones and satellites. Crooke points out that the use of Western munitions to hit civilians in Russia’s border regions has been going on for a year - so when Anthony Blinken announced that Biden has given permission for this to happen it is all part of a show to give the impression that the US is doing something. This response has come out of the disasters on the battlefronts where the Ukrainians are being stretched to breaking point.
But if Western missiles attack strategic targets deep in Russia, it could respond by attacking facilities that have supported these attacks in Poland, Romania or even France. But Putin has said that he will retaliate to Western escalation asymmetrically - i.e. by providing weapons to the West’s enemies.
The Ukrainian Offensive - One Year On
The Ukrainian summer offensive started on the 4th June 2023: a year ago. From anyone’s point of view it must be regarded as a tragic failure - and I can feel for those involved on the Ukrainian side. This was Ukraine’s big hope - and it failed miserably. I don’t want to analyse what went wrong but should point out that this was a human tragedy on the one hand and a turning point on the other. Ukraine has weakened considerably since then and Russia has strengthened correspondingly. Some will debate whether this was Ukraine’s Stalingrad or Kursk - but they will probably agree that this was a turning point. After this, it became clear to rational/pragmatic people that Ukraine could not win, just as such people knew that after Stalingrad Germany could not win (some would have drawn the same conclusion after the Battle of Moscow) and that the Confederates could not win after Gettysburg.
Z Falling Out Of Love With Westerners
The once great Z has been sacking people who he believes do not serve his interests - as I said last week. But now The Washington Post is reporting that Z is hunting people who he believes to be under Western influence: such people could face criminal prosecutions initiated by Zelensky. The Post also suggests that the relationship between him and the White House is deteriorating rapidly.
The Pseudo Summit
Everything is building for the Swiss Peace Summit on 15th/16th June as the once great Z tours the world begging countries to attend. In the Philippines, Zelensky tried to convince people that if Russia defeats Ukraine it will attack their country next. Z managed to insult and anger the Chinese following his visit to Singapore. The Chinese did not like being told that they are ‘instruments in Russia's hands'.
This summit is unique in that one of the protagonists is not invited while the other has no legitimacy. So far, absentees will include, Indonesia, Congo, Argentina, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Russia, China, Pakistan and Sleepy Joe Biden. India and Brazil will send low value representatives fitting to their valuation of the occasion while the Australians will be sending their top disability Minister (which reflects their valuation of the summit).
The US will be represented by cackling Kamala which is an insult in itself.
Zelensky has personally contacted the leaders of ex-Soviet states who are part of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) but failed to persuade any of them to send representatives to the conference, according to Tass. Some are calling the summit a PR stunt and I can’t disagree with that. Others, such as Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge, believe that the summit has been prompted by Russian gains on the battlefronts and could well discuss an expansion of the war:
The Swiss summit may very well be in preparation for this inevitable outcome - A conference to sell global partners on more open NATO involvement in Ukraine. In other words, the "peace summit" might actually be a war summit, a sales pitch to 80 countries on the necessity of taking far greater risks to stop Russia from declaring a strategic win in the region.
According to some, Zelensky is in a difficult position regarding negotiations because he is under pressure from the Nazi element to conform to their wish that Ukraine return to its 1991 borders, which included Crimea. Representatives of the Nazi element are not realists or pragmatists; they are idealists. So, the only hope they have of achieving this aim is World War Three. They probably don’t care about escalation to nuclear war because they are also nihilist, necrophiles just like Hitler and his cronies. So, as they watch the world being destroyed, they will be compensated by the fact that Russia will not keep hold of the Ukrainian lands they have liberated. But I don’t think that will happen.
Cold Winter For Ukrainians
Russia’s partial destruction of Ukraine’s Thermal Power Plants has reduced their output from 30% of electricity production to just 5%. Electricity tariffs have increased considerably along with cost of gas. Ukraine’s Minister for Energy, Ivan Plachkov, is advising people to obtain supplies of wood to help them through the winter. A Ukrainian Telegram channel is reporting that the price of gas will increase by 150-200%. Residents of Ukraine face rolling blackouts even before winter arrives when they will be spending the vast majority of their days without electricity. This is already happening in Kiev, according to this report.
Ukraine Terrorist Attacks (those that target civilians)
I have noticed that casualties from these attacks have been mercifully low for a while - so perhaps civilians are learning how to avoid injury. I was looking back at previous updates in order to judge whether casualties from Ukraine terror attacks are declining. I found that at the end of December and in January there were many more civilian casualties. The 29th December was particularly bad for the people of Belgorod: 25 were killed and 131 injured. The first week in January saw many more casualties than we have seen recently. At the time Maria Zakharova accused the UK of being involved. We now know that Westerners, not Ukrainians, are operating weapons systems but she knew this already. I also noticed that many of the attacks emanated from Volchansk which the Russians are currently investing. Even though casualties have declined, damage to residential property is still considerable. For example, during the course of a recent week, 3,000 dwellings were damaged in Belgorod region alone.
31st May/1st June Overnight
Many villages in Belgorod and Kursk suffered shelling and drone attacks overnight. Damage was caused to some agricultural equipment, power lines, cars and houses but no casualties were reported. However, in the DPR, 5 civilians were killed and 4 injured by shelling.
1st/2nd June
On June 1st, many villages in Kursk came under attack from shelling and drones. Some damage was caused to houses and cars but there were no casualties. Many drones were shot down using small arms fire and electronic jamming. An attack on the central market at Shebekino (Belgorod) injured six people who sustained shrapnel wounds. In Korochansky district, the deputy head of the administration there was killed by a shell while three other administrators were injured in other districts of the Belgorod region. According to another report, one man was injured when a drone fell near a grocery store in Golovchino (Belgorod) while three cars were damaged by drones in Grayvoron.
2nd/3rd June
Belgorod was shelled heavily overnight, according to the Two Majors. Petrol stations, agricultural enterprises and power lines were among the main targets. But drones and shells have also attacked shops, houses, cars and apartment blocks, injuring nine civilians. Many villages in Kursk were also attacked by shelling and drones causing some damage but no casualties. Many drones were destroyed by small arms fire or disabled by electronic means. In the DPR, drones and HIMARS using cluster munitions were used to attack civilians injuring 8 people.
3rd/4th June Overnight
Many villages in Belgorod came under shelling and drone attack overnight. One car was attacked injuring one civilian while the driver of another car was killed by a drone strike. Villages in Kursk also came under shellfire and drone attack though no injuries were reported. In the DPR one person was killed and another six injured by shelling. In early afternoon of the 4th, the Ukrainians attacked Kursk with four Olkha MLRS rockets but they were all destroyed and caused no damage - according to the Russian MoD.
4th/5th June Overnight
Once again, Belgorod received its daily dose of shelling and drone attacks on civilian targets. According to the Two Majors, a bus carrying agricultural workers was hit by a drone which injured three while two more were injured by a drone that fell on the porch of a house. The driver of a lorry was killed in one village while the driver of a bus was injured in another. Other drones damaged cars and apartment buildings. Meanwhile in Kursk, many villages were shelled but there were no casualties. Thirteen drones were eliminated by small arms fire or by electronic means. However, in the DPR ten civilians including two children were injured by shelling
5th/6th June Overnight
Many Belgorod villages suffered shelling and drone attacks overnight which burned down a flat and caused damage to a commercial facility. Villages in Kursk suffered similarly but no casualties were reported in either region.
6th/7th June Overnight
Belgorod suffered shelling and drone attacks overnight which caused little damage but injured four or five civilians. Kursk region also suffered shelling and drone attacks but no casualties were reported. Two drones were shot down over Belgorod and one over Rostov. A total of 17 drones were suppressed in the border regions. Shelling injured two civilians in the DPR, which rarely escapes casualties. Lugansk was attacked by ATACMS missiles armed with cluster warheads along with shelling which killed at least three people and injured at least thirty five. This is the sort of terrorism that Western missiles are being used for.
The Sea War (Map)
4th June
Today, a drone boat was destroyed in the Black Sea on the approach to Sevastopol. You can see footage here. It is said that the new commander of the Black Sea Fleet has a more systematic approach to destroying these drones.
5th/6th June
Attacks by Ukrainian drones on the west coast of Crimea and Novorossiysk were repelled overnight.
6th/7th June
Overnight, 11 drones were shot down over Crimea, 8 over the Sea of Azov and 6 over Krasnador.
The Air War (Map)
Russian Missile/Drone Strikes
31st May/1st June Overnight
Energy facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of Ukraine were attacked overnight, according to Ukraine’s Energy Minister. Two thermal power plants were badly damaged. 53 missiles and 47 ‘Geraniums’ were employed according to a Ukrainian source. Explosions were reported in Vinnitsa, Rovno, Zaporozhye regions, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkassy, Lvov, Khmelnitsky regions. According to the Two Majors, the following facilities were attacked:
Bushtyrskaya TPP in Ivano-Frankivsk region; Ladyzhinskaya TPP in Vinnytsia region; Kremensug and Dnieper hydroelectric power stations; Port infrastructure in Odessa; Underground gas storage and airfield in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. As well as warehouses in the airfield area.
The Dnieper power station was left in a ‘critical condition’ after an attack, according to the Kiev Independent (reported by Willy Oam).
3rd/4th June Overnight
Targets in Dnepropetrovsk were attacked overnight, according to Slavyangrad. Odessa and illichivsk were also attacked.
5th June
The runway at Odessa airfield was attacked and damaged with an Iskander missile which the Ukrainian defences did not attempt to destroy.
5th/6th June Overnight
Poltava, Kharkov, Nikolaev, Odessa and Kherson all came under missile/drone attack overnight.
6th/7th June Overnight
Military facilities south of Kiev, in Odessa, Kharkov, and Poltava regions were hit overnight along with the airfield at Starokontantinov - according to Slavyangrad. An oil depot at Grebenki (Kiev) was also hit, as you can see here. Chernomorsk (Ilyichevsk) and Chuguyev also came under fire.
Ukrainian Missile/Drone Strikes
3rd June
On this day, the Ukrainians, employing HIMARS missiles, destroyed a S-300/400 air defence system in Belgorod, according to the Two Majors. No casualties were reported.
5th/6th June Overnight
Oil refineries in Rostov and Belgorod were set alight overnight by Ukrainian drones. The fire at the latter was put out quickly but those in charge at Rostov, having been attacked by drones while tackling the blaze, had to watch it burn. No casualties were reported.
The Ground War
Ukraine Casualties
I have been looking at an Update for late December - early January to examine civilian casualty rates - as I have already said. But while looking through the report, I noticed that Ukraine’s weekly casualties were around 4,000 then: now they are around 11,000. These are devastating statistics for Ukrainians and anyone who believes human life has value. On the 1st June, the Ukrainians suffered 1845 casualties - the highest I’ve seen. A Russian source suggests that Ukraine is losing 50,000 men per month but at the moment can replace only 30,000 of these through mobilisation.
Russian MoD Weekly Reports
w/e 17th May 9565 Casualties killed and wounded: equipment losses 445.
w/e 24th May 11205 Casualties killed and wounded: equipment losses 484.
w/e 31st May 11225 Casualties killed and wounded: equipment losses 412.
w/e 7th June 11,140 Casualties killed and wounded: equipment losses 447.
The Fronts
Front Line Cats
North Kharkov
The Russian advances in Volchansk and Liptsy have slowed in the face of massive Ukrainian reinforcements (many of whom have received very little training) which are mounting counterattacks to regain lost territory - according to the Two Majors. But the Ukrainians don’t have the armour and heavy artillery required to make a breakthrough even though they currently outnumber their opponents in this Direction. The Russians have managed to gain a foothold on the heights to the east of Volchansk which will permit them to place some Ukrainian supply routes under fire control. It appears that the Russians are drawing Ukrainian reserves into these areas in order to destroy them with their overwhelming superiority in firepower (for example, Russia drops 3,000 glide bombs a month whereas Ukraine can manage only a few hundreds.). It should be noted that the Russians are employing light infantry in this Direction while their heavy infantry is being held in reserve. By the end of the week, fierce fighting was being conducted in the multi-storey buildings in the heart of the city. According to the Military Chronicle, the Ukrainians have brought many of their elite units to this battle.
Kupyansk - Siversk
By the end of the week, Russian forces had secured a foothold north of Ivanovka in an area 2.2 kilometres wide and 1.06 Km deep. In the Siversky Direction, the Russians are advancing in the south eastern outskirts of Belogorovka.
Detail of Fighting Around Seversk - from Marat Khairullin
Chasiv Yar
The canal ‘microdistrict’ of Chasiv Yar was largely occupied by the Russians this week. The Russians are pushing towards the eastern suburbs of Chasiv Yar itself and along the flanks of the city.
North West of Avdeevka - Ocheretyne
In this Direction, by the end of the week, according to Boris Rozhin, the Russians were approaching Sokol which is under Ukrainian control. In Novoalexandrovka, the fighting continues to shift into the village itself, the enemy admits the loss of some positions. The Russians are bypassing the Kalinovo fortified area from the west. To the south of Ocheretyne, they have advanced from Umanskoye towards Novosyolka.
Ocheretyne - Detailed Map from Marat Khairullin
West of Avdeevka
The Russians have advanced towards Karlovka this week and clashes continued near Yasnobrodovka and Novopokrovskoe according to Southfront.
South of Donetsk
The Russians are advancing on the flanks of Krasnogorivka from the east and the south. They have also captured the village of Paraskoviivka, according to the Military Summary. On the 6th June, Slavyangrad reported that Georgievka has been liberated and that advances are being made around Pobeda.
Detail of Konstantinovka Battle - Marat Khairullin
According to Marat Khairullin on June 5th:
In Paraskovievka, our armed forces managed to break through to the western outskirts of the village, taking almost complete control over it and planting a flag in the center. Even the reinforcements that arrived there in recent days did not help dill. South of Paraskovievka, our units attacked from the southeast and entrenched themselves in forest belts leading almost to Konstantinovka. And from there they launched an attack in armored vehicles in the direction of her. Thus, it can be stated that battles are beginning for this settlement, which is an important junction and logistics hub in this direction.
Vuhledar
Marat Khairullin gave this report of the situations south of Konstantinovka on June 5th :
Our fighters continue to advance from Sladkoe, approaching the highway leading to Ugledar. At the same time, they are leveling the southern flank and improving positions on both sides of the beam running north of the quarry near Vladimirovka. In the area of Ugledar itself, aviation is actively operating, artillery strikes are being carried out on the enemy, as well as drone strikes.
As you can see from the map, one of the main supply routes to Ugledar runs through Konstantinovka which is in danger of capture. Since the Russians have also taken Pavlovka, they appear to have fire control over all routes into Ugledar. The fortress of Ugledar has been a thorn in the side of the Russian army for a long, long time; now, at last, it is being seriously threatened.
Zaporozhye - Rabotino - Verbove
There have been no significant changes in this Direction with fighting continuing around Rabotino and north west of Verbove.
Kherson
The Ukrainians reported clashes in Krynki on June 6th. The Russian are constantly bombarding Ukraine’s bank of the Dnieper with FABS and UMPC artillery.
The Economic War
Russian-Indian Oil Deals
A Russian company has just completed a deal with Indian company ‘Reliance Industries’ which will receive up to 3 millions barrels of Russian oil per month for a twelve month period - according to Sputnik. This will assist the process of de-dollarisation. The transactions will be conducted outside of the West’s ‘Swift’ system.
India Taking Back its Gold
The Indian Central Bank is taking back 100 tonnes of gold from the UK - which is a quarter of its overseas reserves. It intends to bring more gold back home in the coming months. Discussions by Western countries about the possibility of confiscating Russian assets are beginning to backfire - perhaps!
Italy Complaining About Russia Sanctions
The President of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs, Vittorrio Torrembini, has complained bitterly that sanctions imposed on Russia have cost Italy’s economy 10-15 billions Euros. Trade turnover between Russia and Italy has fallen from 30 billion euros to 9 billion, exports to Russia have dropped by 36%, Russian imports have fallen by 70-80%, Torrembini added. Many jobs have also been lost.
France’s Credit Rating Reduced
Much to the embarrassment of Emmanuel Macron, France’s credit rating has been downgraded by S&P Global from AA to AA-. France’s deficit is expected to be 4.9% of GDP during 2024 and 2025. In order to achieve AA status deficits must be no higher than 3%. You can read more here. The credit ratings of the three Baltic countries has also been reduced due regional geopolitical risks. They have not yet learned that it is better to have Russia as a friend than an enemy.
World Politics
Western Idiots - Jon Benjamin
British ambassador to Mexico, Jon Benjamin, was sacked for being an idiot. While on a visit to Mexico, he pulled out an assault rifle in the back of his car and pointed it at a staffer. Given the amount of gun violence in the country, this was thought to be disrespectful to those killed and their families. You can see him in action here.
Anti-War Protests Hungary and Germany
Thousands of people took to the streets in Budapest to protest against funding Ukraine and NATO’s policy of endless wars.
In Berlin, a smaller demonstration protested against sending weapons to Ukraine and taking orders from Washington.
French Activists Protest With Coffins in Paris
French peace activists used coffins marked with a poster claiming: ‘French soldiers killed in Ukraine’. The coffins were placed at the foot of the Eifel Tower.
Meanwhile, in Russia, posters are appearing at bus stops asking French soldiers to surrender.
I wonder, is Russia learning how to play the media game?
Wise Westerners - Robert Kennedy Jnr
In an interview, Kennedy pointed out that 90 millions Americans will die in the first 20 minutes of a nuclear war. He also said:
The Russians have 2,500 more nuclear missiles than us, and their defense systems are better than ours. They have weapons that dwarf those of the United States. That's why all these offensives in Ukraine ended in failure. Because the Russians have stunned the world with the sophistication and capabilities of their military equipment. It's really embarrassing to admit.
It’s a shame that he didn’t express such wisdom with regard to the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Wise Westerners - Matteo Salvini
Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister has suggested that Macron put his helmet on and take himself off to Ukraine - if he feels that strongly about things - rather than ‘messing with Italian heads’. It is so easy for politicians to advocate for the deaths of others while refusing to place themselves in danger and so good that someone should draw attention to this - even if it is part of a political campaign event.
UK - Russian Spies More Dangerous Than Terrorists
The Telegraph is reporting that UK defence chiefs are trying to scare us with stories of the threat of Russian and Chinese spies. In order to combat this ‘threat’, resources are being diverted from the fight against terrorists. Furthermore, Iran, they claim, is using organised crime to intimidate and murder people in the UK. Now why can’t I believe any of this. It is so, so predictable. The war on terror is being replaced by the war on Russia, China and Iran - the new axis of evil. But what on earth are these spies supposed to be doing I wonder? Could they be stealing military or economic secrets? Do we have any of these that would be useful to them?
Jungle Josep - Beware of Russkies!
According to Josep Borrell1, Russia is ‘polluting the information field’ by defaming the EU’s reputation in the Middle East, The Balkans, Africa, Latin America and Asia. It seems that any information critical of the EU is ‘pollution’. No doubt Ursula von Der Leyen has a ‘vaccine’ that would immunise people from such pollution of thought. We need to protect European elections from ‘malicious actors’ who want the EU to fail, Borrell said. According to Josep, this defamation amounts to a ‘serious security threat’. This reminds me of Wokist ‘hate speech’ which is also assumed to me injurious.
Hey Jo, there are plenty of people inside Europe who want the EU to fail. It does not need Russia’s helping hand in this respect: it is destroying itself.
Of course, Borrell is simply promoting the ‘Scary Russkies’ narrative that will intensify greatly in the future.
Biden Administration ‘Out of Control’ - According to Poll
73% of US voters believe that the Biden Administration is ‘out of control’ and on ‘the wrong track’ according to a recent poll published in Zero Hedge. This is the highest disapproval level since records began - no surprise there. The same poll had Trump leading Biden in six of the seven ‘swing states’ and showed that ‘non white’ voters are turning away from the party that depended on them so much. Remember Biden saying: ‘if you don’t vote Democrat, you ain’t black’ - well that’s getting less believable by the minute.
Those close to Biden are saying that in private he is showing signs of mental deterioration, according to Sputnik. With regard to his speeches, it seems that at times he remembers things better than on other occasions when he relies on his notes, makes long pauses with his eyes shut and tends to mumble.
The emerging Multi-Polar World Order
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)
The annual forum is taking place this week between the 5th and 8th June. According to Sputnik the forum will prioritise discussion of multipolarity in emerging centres of global growth. 17,100 people from 136 countries will attend along with 3,400 journalists. The main theme of the conference is ‘The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multi-Polar World’. You can read more here or here.
The Taliban have sent a delegation.
Speaking to Western journalists at the forum, Putin explained that the appearance of German tanks on Russian soil gave the Russian people a ‘moral-ethical shock’. He also pointed to the fact that Germany hasn’t had sovereignty since the end of the war. Asked about which US Presidential candidate he would prefer to win, he did not express a preference. He also told reporters that the US is interested only maintaining its global hegemony and has no real interest in Ukraine or the Ukrainian people. He also gave them a history lesson in the origins of the conflict. He hinted that in retaliation for the West supplying arms to Ukraine, Russia could provide arms to countries unfriendly towards the West.
Scott Ritter, who was on route to SPIEF, was ejected from the plane he had boarded and had his passport taken from him - which is clearly illegal. He will still attend at least one ‘virtual’ session.
Since the conference does not finish until Saturday, I will provide another report next week.
Turkiye May Join BRICS
According to Sputnik, Hakan Fidan, Turkiye’s Foreign Minister, has said that: ‘Certainly we would like to be a member of BRICS. So, we’ll see how it goes this year’. Russia’s Foreign Minister, Dmitry Peskov said that he would welcome an application from Turkiye. 30 countries have applied to cooperate with BRICS under the category of ‘partner countries’. Has Erdogan, after so much dithering, finally decided that his future does not lie with the West? Has the Gazan genocide finally swayed him? I hope so.
Sanctioned Countries Bite Back
Sanctioned countries such as Russia, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea and China are creating a trading bloc of their own, according to The Wall Street Journal. It appears that they cooperate to overcome sanctions and are still able to conduct active trade around the world. Sounds like another Western own goal to me. The emerging MPWO may be hastening the West’s demise but the West itself is accelerating the process by taking actions that strengthen rather than weaken its opponent. Once again, this stems from a Western lack of understanding about the nature of reality.
Russia/China Close To Replacing SWIFT
Russian business spokesman, Boris Titov, has said that the two countries are seeking to conduct financial transactions using CIPS which is an analogue of SWIFT, the Western financial messaging system from which Russia has been barred. Russia has been using its own domestic transaction system (SPFS) as a reliable alternative since the ban was imposed. But an independent (sanctions free) international system such as CIPS would be an improvement on the SPFS system which is currently being used by 557 banks in 20 different countries.
That’s it for another eventful week which has expanded this update beyond it normal size. Many thanks for your views, subscriptions, likes, shares and comments. Does anyone have news of b from the Moon of Alabama. Best Rob

Some have called him ‘Jungle’ Borrell because he described the EU as a garden and everything outside of it as ‘jungle’.
I feel so bloody sorry for those on whatever side fighting in all the conflicts, Ukrainians possibly most because they are being killed and wounded for the Nazi/Banderite faction and USA/NATO's wishes.
I dislike the idea of weapons being shipped around the world, but as the West is allowing the terrorist regime in Kiev to target Russia, giving Russian weapons to forces fighting the Western axis of evil makes total sense. Just imagine if the Houthi had other missiles what would happen to the Western navies and ship traffic. There are several places around the world that could be closed to Western ships.

Thank you for your great work.
Thanks for the update Rob.
I think its disgusting that the Z puppet turns up in a jumper to the D Day commemorations. Classless.
Perhaps he was happy to represent the Ukrainians that fought for the nazis from the bunkers that day whilst he was scavenging for weapons from one of the chief Western lunatics-Macron..
On the battles on the fronts it Looks like there are more operational encirclements in place with the RF push into Georgiyevka trapping UA units against the lakes.
Also taking control of the main supply road into Ugledar.
These moves and others will eventually lead to the destruction of 1 or 2 more UA brigades.
Yet still, for now, they try to hold the line unquestionably.
Unless, like you say, something big is around the corner.
Like a Seydlitz Kurzbach (Stalingrad pocket) attempt to pre-empt a UA withdrawal or a mass surrender somewhere else even?
Lets see what happens next week.
