This week may come to be viewed as a landmark if not a turning point in the Ukraine war. This was the week when US missile supplies to Ukraine were suspended: even those already delivered to Poland will go no further (see below). This doesn’t mean that the Ukrainian army will collapse but it will have a psychological affect on everyone involved on the Ukrainian side. Already, Intelligence Chief, Krylo Budanov, has spoken of the impossibility of recovering lost lands and the prospect of losing more in the future. Soldiers and commanders will seek to conserve missiles/shells and that will impact on battles.
In the Middle East, the Israeli Army continues to massacre Palestinians as they attempt to obtain aid. The total civilian deaths from Israeli strikes on July 1st was in excess of 100. On July 3rd, 81 innocents were killed and another 150 injured. Many civilians are killed and maimed every single day: many more than are killed by the Ukrainians.1
After failing at Iranian regime change, Netanyahu and the US are now proposing that Gaza be governed by members of Arab states and that Hamas members will be asked to go elsewhere. Palestinians who want to leave Gaza will be assisted. This will be part of a ’two state’ solution in which the Abraham accords will be expanded to include Saudi Arabia, Syria and others. Mahmood OD discusses these proposals, which are not new, at this point in his video. Neither the Palestinians nor Hamas will agree to this after all they have suffered and the Saudis will have no treaty with Israel until there is a Palestinian state.
As part of this ‘deal’, sanctions on Iran will be lifted and financial assistance offered, according to Steve Witkoff, if Iran abandons enrichment. Maybe Trump, having failed at regime change, wants to make some money and exert influence by doing this. He will know that Russia is planning to build nuclear reactors in Iran.
Trump made it clear that: “I would not hesitate to strike Iran again if it were found that Iran had uranium enriched enough to make a bomb' which makes it sound as if Trump would accept lower levels of enrichment. However, Zero Hedge reported that Trump, though allowing the nuclear power program, will not accept enrichment - which other reports make clear. Trump also said that he is not concerned about Iran’s secret uranium sites and conceded that both Israel and Iran had been exhausted by the fighting. Iran ‘got beat to hell’, he said, but, he conceded, ‘Israel was beat up too'. Trump was annoyed by Khamenei’s victory statement so is withdrawing the sanction relief he promised - though he may relent if the Iranians ‘behave themselves'. He was also miffed that the Ayatollah didn’t thank him for sparing his life: typical exceptionalist Donald.
The Iranians have voted to withdraw contact with the IAEA due to the role it may have played in identifying and locating key Iranian figures for Israeli assassinations and because it did not condemn the attacks on its nuclear facilities. IAEA cameras will be disabled according to Sputnik. Araghchi will be reporting the US and Israel to the UNSC and will be asking that it denounces both countries as aggressors liable to pay Iran compensation.
Iran is taking steps to improve its internal security by divorcing itself from GPS, Whats Ap and Instagram (see below). It is also arresting Mossad agents and Azerbaijani terrorist groups who were involved in the June 13th attacks.
We should not forget that Iran is the only country in the region that is supporting the Axis of Resistance - i.e. Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Resistance and Hezbollah. In spite of empty talk, the leaders (not the people) of all the Arab countries in the region, along with Turkey, are falling in line with the wishes of the Ameraelis. In spite of the risks, therefore, it is possible that they will not give up in their attempts to subdue Iran. Russia has warned the US and Israel about the possible dire consequences of another attack on Iran.
In Syria, the ethnic cleansing of minority groups such as Christians and Alawites continues as village after village is destroyed. But the minority groups are not giving up and are arming themselves in Syria and Lebanon, where Hezbollah is revitalised by new recruits. A weakened Israeli army cannot defeat Hezbollah so will employ Wahabi death squads in both countries to fight for them.
In Ukraine, Russia recently liberated the town of Shevchenko in the DPR, thereby gaining access to massive lithium deposits - which will not please the Donald. Lithium is used in batteries, nuclear reactors, lasers and advanced weapons systems. You can read more at Sputnik. The Russians are making progress in Sumy where Ukrainian reinforcements are slowing their advance. In June, they captured more territory than in any month since November 2024.
Ukraine has pulled out of the anti-personnel mines treaty, following the withdrawal by Poland and the Baltic countries. In a good will gesture, Trump has lifted some sanctions on Russia (see Economic War below). Incomprehensively, Mark Rutte is now saying that Ukraine will eventually join NATO, the prospect of which, he knows, is one of the main reasons the Russians started the SMO. He knows that Russia will not allow Ukraine NATO membership. This is just more poking of the bear, in my view.
Russia appears to have been the victim of terrorist attacks on its shipping as you can read at the MoA. The Financial Times suggests that the Ukrainians could have been involved but the British and Mossad are also suspects. In Yekaterinburg, Russian police recently arrested two Azerbaijani men in connection with a murder who subsequently died in custody. The Azerbaijanis responded by arresting a group of Sputnik journalists, accusing them of terrorism. Azerbaijan is an ally of Israel and a proxy for British interests in the Caucasus, according to South Front. The Israelis used its airspace to attack Iran.
Russia has become the first country to recognise the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Finally, as I write, a ceasefire in Gaza may have been agreed by Hamas, according to Mahmood OD.
It’s been a relatively quiet week.
US Suspends Missile Supplies
This week, the Pentagon announced that due to shortages, it will no longer supply Ukraine with Patriot missiles; 155mm shells; GMLRS rockets; Stinger, AIM-7 and Hellfire missiles. This marks a sea change in the US’s commitment to Ukraine that has been hinted at for some time. It was not expected by the Trump Team according to Politico but another source claims that the final decision on the withdrawal of missile supplies was made by Hegseth and Trump. But this will send shockwaves through the Ukrainian establishment and among the Ukrainian people (if they get to hear about it). I imagine that the war with Iran, which expended much of this ordnance, has contributed to this decision along with the likely prospect of it reigniting. A US State Department Spokesman said that this is a ‘one off’ and that not all military aid is being stopped, according to Sputnik. But Ukraine will suffer from this on the battlefield. According to a Ukrainian source, the Administration will engage in a propaganda campaign aimed at underplaying this development to avoid panic.
EAEU Summit - Minsk - June 27th
The leaders of observer states, namely Cuba and Uzbekistan, as well as guest countries - Mongolia and the United Arab Emirates - have joined the leaders of the EAEU countries to attend the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council talks.
Each participating country delivered a speech. In addition to speeches by the Russian President and summit host, Alexander Lukashenko, speeches were also made by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who were attending the meeting via video link. You can read more at Tass.
In an interview following the summit, Putin praised Donald Trump’s efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict as sincere and said that he respected the US leader’s courage after all he has been through. Trump responded positively to Vladimir’s compliments, welcoming what he views as Russian respect for the American Nation which was absent during the Biden era. Putin conceded that a meeting between himself and Trump ‘remains entirely possible'.
With regard to Europe’s fear of Russia and its plans to increase military spending by 2035 Putin said:
As for the armed forces, we are constantly being told that we have some kind of problems, that Russia will soon suffer a strategic defeat...And at the same time, they are broadcasting that we are going to attack NATO countries. Where is the logic? If everything is falling apart, why are we going to attack NATO? Well, they are talking nonsense and they definitely do not believe it themselves, but they are trying to convince their people in order to squeeze more money out of them so that they agree to bear the heavy burden of these expenses.
If, as the Europeans claim to believe, they are about to be attacked by Russia their plan to increase military spending by 2035 will not save them.
With regard to Russia’s own military spending, Putin admitted that the 6.3% of GDP spent on the military is too much and will be reduced in future. The US spent 14% of GDP on the Korean war and 10% of GDP on the Vietnam war. Currently, it spends only 2.9% while asking European countries to spend 5% of GDP. Of course, the US spends more than anyone else on ‘defence’ because it has a higher GDP than anyone else.
Lukashenko announced that the EAEU is ready to implement its free trade deal with Iran.

Putin And Macron Talk
The two leaders spoke for more than two hours in which they discussed the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. As permanent members of the UN Security Council they recognised their role in bringing peace and security to the Middle East through diplomatic and political means. They also recognised their duty to preserve the global nuclear non-proliferation regime which is in tatters. In discussing Ukraine, Putin pointed to Western responsibility for the situation through NATO expansion and Ukraine’s policies against Russian speaking people. He also reaffirmed that the root causes of the conflict must be addressed. Macron pleaded with Russia for a ceasefire but to no avail. Macron initiated the call having come to realise, perhaps, that in the light of America’s pending withdrawal from the conflict, Europe will need to make a peace deal with the Russians eventually. This was their first conversation in nearly three years. You can read more at Tass.
Russian Missiles
According to the Financial Times, as reported by Rybar, Russia now has 13,000 missiles and is producing 200 missiles per month. So, it is not going to run out any time soon.

Russian Army Growing
Since the start of this year, 210,000 men have joined the Russian army under contract, according to Medvedev. Another 18,000 have joined volunteer units.
No Russian Music/No Shelters For Russian Speakers
In Ukraine a law has come into force that prohibits people from listening to Russian music even in their own cars. Transgressors must pay a fine of $600. According to Maria Zakharova, the Ukrainians do not allow Russian speakers into the bomb shelters.
Russia-Ukraine: One People - Medinsky
Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the Russian President, Russia's chief negotiator with Ukraine, and President of the Russian Military-Historical Society, emphasized that the historical destiny of Russia and Ukraine is one and the same, and they constitute one nation. Ominous.
Ukraine Could Collapse in Six Months
According to Gideon Rachman of the Financial Times Ukrainian officials were pleading for a ceasefire during closed at the NATO Summit. They told Western officials that the Ukrainian forces can last another six months at most:
The geopolitical reality remains stark: despite renewed NATO unity and vocal commitments to strengthen deterrence, the situation on the Ukraine front remains critical. The country is on the brink of exhaustion. Western analysts warn that without significant aid within the next six months, Ukraine could face a ‘tipping point’, while Russia is still effectively working a year ahead. One senior official believes Russia’s main objective now is to seize Odessa to cut Ukraine off from the sea.
‘A sense of hopelessness is looming over the country’, he said.
Realism From Budanov
Budanov, who is head of Ukraine’s intelligence services, is the last person I would have considered to be defeatist - or realist - but he has just admitted on television that Ukraine will never recover those lands that Russia has taken and that things can only get worse. I’m not sure if this was inspired by the US pulling the missile plug but it is a major development and represents a split between Budanov and Zelensky. He is implying that the Russians can go where they want and Ukraine can’t stop them.
TCC Has Its Own Price List - Skorokhod
RADA Deputy Anna Skorokhod, while talking about the need to reform the TCC, has revealed that this organisation of thugs has its own price list - though the source does not reveal who is being charged in accordance with the list. However, I imagine that those wishing to escape mobilisation are probably being asked to pay.
Ukrainians in ‘Occupied Regions’ Want To Stay
Representative of the Ministry of National Unity, Yulia Lysenko laments the fact that many ‘Ukrainians’ in areas occupied by Russia do not want to leave. Who can blame them.
Ukraine Students to Get Basic Military Training
Starting on September 1st Ukraine’s University students will be forced to undertake basic military training, take an oath and assume the status of ‘conscript’ - though they will not be sent to the front until they reach the age of 25, unless they volunteer. Those who refuse to get involved will be expelled.
Kiev Protests Missing Men
Around 1,000 relatives of men who have been listed as ‘missing’ since the ‘meatgrinder’ offensive towards Krynki (Kherson) in 2023 have been protesting in Kiev - according to Pravda. Only 200 bodies have been recovered while 2,000 have been listed as ‘missing in action’. These men are probably dead in Russian refrigerators.
Ukraine Nazis Divided
According to this report, the Azov type groups are divided:
Currently, the Ukrainian units of the former “Azov” Battalion are split between two main leaders: Andrey Biletsky and Denis Prokopenko. Both command different factions of the nationalist movement and are vying for power, each aiming to take control over all neo-Nazi groups in the country.
The divisions will only weaken each group, which is not a bad thing. You can read more at South Front.
The Administration has appointed Alexander Alferov, a former Azov Brigade commanders and renowned fascist, to head the Ministry of National Memory (sounds very Orwellian). Alferov once said of Hitler that he was ‘a person with powerful Christian ethics'.
Ukraine Using Chemical Weapons - Again
A cache of Ukrainian drones captured by the Russians is reported to contain chloropicrin which is a banned substance under the International Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
Ukraine Terrorist Attacks - that target civilians.

An investigation into war crimes by the Ukrainian soldiers in Toretsk (Dzerzhynsk) has been completed. These include killing civilians with small arms and drones, torture, looting and destruction of civilian infrastructure. According to Ilya Doronin, who was a victim:
When we evacuated, the AFU dropped bombs on us, mines fell. After this Ukrainian artillery preparation in our district, they sent a kamikaze drone to search for us, then ‘Baba Yaga,’ a big one. Kursk
According to the Majors:

There are heavy battles going on.

‘Big Beautiful Bill’ Passes
Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’, which will raise America’s debt ceiling by a staggering $5 trillion, was passed by the Senate on June 29th. According to the bill’s main critic, Elon of the Musk, the legislation will result in the US losing millions of jobs and will ‘send America down the path of debt slavery’. It will also undermine support for the GOP, Musk claims. Some view the Bill as a betrayal of working class people. After some delays in the House, the bill was eventually passed at 4 am on the 4th July as you can read at Zero Hedge.

Fordow Unlikely to Have Been Damaged - Ted Postol
Professor Ted Postol believes that the underground facilities at Fordow could not have been severely damaged in the way that Trump and his administration claim. The US claims are probably disingenuous and based on a misrepresentation of the structures of the ventilation shafts through which explosives were directed to the bottom where the centrifuges would have been active. The shafts have been presented as running vertically to the bottom whereas they were probably ‘elbow shaped’ allowing the explosion to be spent and restricted so that the facilities would not be harmed. Postol believes it is likely that the shafts were constructed this way. You can view his presentation - which is a little technical - here.
Pete Hegseth played a major part in the deception.
Nazi Descendants Promoted to Key Western Posts
According to Maria Zakharova, the West is purposely promoting descendants of Nazis to key posts in its establishment:
The trend is obviously neo-Nazi: [German Chancellor] Friedrich Merz, [future UN General Assembly President] Annalena Baerbok, [Canada’s Transport and Internal Trade Minister] Chrystia Freeland, [Georgian ex-President] Salome Zurabishvili. Now the head of MI6, Blaise Metreweli, can be added to the list. Someone purposefully and consciously puts descendants of the Nazis in leadership positions in the countries of the collective West.
Metreweli’s grandfather, it is claimed, took part in the massacre of Jews at Babi Yar. You can read more at Tass.
Hungary Vetoes Ukraine’s EU Membership
Hungary has vetoed Ukraine’s application to the EU after a referendum in the country voted overwhelmingly against due to concerns regarding the impact on Hungary and the EU as a whole. Many other EU countries have similar concerns so the decision was not contested though Denmark wants Hungary to be deprived of its voting rights. Orban said that if we allow Ukraine to enter the EU we will have entered the war against Russia. You can read more at Pravda.
Hungary Paks Nuclear Project Up and Running
The US has lifted sanctions on Russia in connection with its involvement in building a Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary which means that the project can be restarted after a pause.
‘Death, Death to the IDF’ - Glastonbury
Singer Bob Vylan, along with thousands at the Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK chanted ‘free, free Palestine’ and ‘death, death to the IDF’ who are killing innocent civilians as they attempt to collect aid in Gaza. The Israeli Embassy in the UK was not impressed by this anti semitic ‘inflammatory and hateful rhetoric'. Predictably, the US has cancelled Vylan’s Visa. But this chant does not say death to Jews; it says death to the Israeli Defence Forces - which is completely different. It should be said that many IDF soldiers who are refusing to serve in Gaza are not deserving of this rhetoric. However, Western criticism is highly hypocritical since Netanyhu is calling for Khamenei to be killed while many Israeli people want the Palestinians wiped out and village idiot Lindsey Graham called for Gaza to be nuked.
Justice in Bonkers Britain
Global Warming - Are They Losing Faith?
The first ever ‘global climate change conference’ was held in Bonn, Germany on June 26th. The most notable absentee was, predictably, Donald J - who is not a believer. Apparently, the Europeans were a bit rudderless without their ‘Daddy’. It seems that the world is warming up much slower than predicted by Greta Thunberg when she shouted ‘how dare you!’. Once upon a time the earth was predicted to burn unless we acted before 2030, then it changed to 2035 - but now dear Emmanuel Macron is suggesting that we can risk it until 2040. Have you noticed that reality is getting in the way of AGW policies. Moscow experienced its coldest end to June on record this year - which hardly fits with the AGW thesis. Argentina also suffered record low temperatures this week which killed 9 homeless people.
Let Bibi Go - Trump
The Orange man just can’t stop interfering with other countries as if he thinks America owns the world. Now he is ordering Israel’s judicial system to let the war criminal (war hero according to Trump) to be set free: ‘stop the Witch Hunt’ he demands, ‘We are not going to stand for this: LET BIBI GO’.
War With Iran Strategic Error - Haaretz
An article in the Israeli Haaretz newspaper is claiming that the war with Iran was a strategic error. On this occasion the Israeli murder of innocent civilians came back to haunt them because it united and enraged Iranian society against them. This article suggests that they should have confined their strikes to Iran’s nuclear facilities.
European Madness
Frederikson
In a stout, uncompromising voice, the Prime Minister of Denmark said:
If the US refuses to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons, this will be a serious step back not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe and NATO.
She also said that without the once great Z, ‘our European family will not be complete'. Words fail me!
Kallas
I think that Kaja Kallas and her mutterings can be offered as an informative guide to the Western World and its total lack of moral, political, personal and legal legitimacy. She criticised Iran for continuing a conflict that Israel started while failing to criticise Israel for an illegal attack on a sovereign country. She also failed to criticise the US and Israel for irresponsibly attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities, which is breach of the JCPOA and the NPT. She spoke of the dangers of a radioactive release but did not reveal that only US/Israel were posing such threats by attacking Iran’s nuclear sites. She didn’t even mention the fact that Israel has nuclear weapons but will not submit to IAEA inspections. She also ignored the fact that Iran has attacked none of its neighbours while Israel has attacked Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Iran. She also ignored the elephant that most off the world can see - i.e. the genocide in Gaza. But more recently she has spoken with Foreign Minister Araghchi criticising Iran for kicking the duplicitous, criminal, conniving IAEA into touch - as I have discussed above. She demanded that Iran allow the inspectors into the country. Kaja dear, do you mean that these people should be admitted so that they can gather intelligence that will be used by the Israelis and the Americans to kill key figures in Iranian society? I don’t think that’s going to happen.
Araghchi responded by warning of the ‘destructive approach’ assumed by many European countries. He reminded the willfully ignorant Kallas that Iran has a right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes under the JPCOA, the UN charter and International Law generally. Under such circumstances, he said, any negotiations with European representatives would be pointless. The US response was equally ‘exceptionalist’ - simply telling Iran to obey American orders. A spokeswoman said that various US officials have insisted repeatedly (as if repetition bestows authority) that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. Some would say that this is none of America’s business but the US establishment, with its tentacles of military bases strangling the world, takes a different view.
There is no moral or legal consistency in any of these responses and it is quite obvious that the whole rotten Western World conducts its business in accordance with the laws of the Jungle not those of civilisation. Josep Borrell never realised that he lives inside of the Jungle not outside of it.

Between 36,000 and 100,000 people were involved, depending on who you ask. The protesters are demanding ‘snap elections’. I am not sure whether this an attempt at a ‘colour revolution’ backed by the West. Road blocks were constructed in 18 cities throughout Serbia - according to Sputnik. You can read more at Tass.

Iran Disables GPS; Joins China’s Beidou
Iran has always been taking risks in using the US military controlled GPS satellite navigation system. The US could deprive Iran of the service, initiate cyber attacks or use it to spy on them. The US/Israel used a cyber attack to disable Iran’s air defence system at the start of the war. This is part of a general move away from the West and all its systems. The Iranians believe that ‘WhatsApp’ and ‘Instagram’ were used by the US/Israelis to locate the people they wanted to assassinate. Iran has asked its people to delete both apps. Prior to creating Beidou, China came to realise that whoever controls space controls the battlefield and that no country can be sovereign if it is using Western systems, including GPS or banking payment systems such as Swift. Both can be cut off at any time. Beidou will probably be offered to all BRICS countries to set them free of the West. You can find out more here.
