Donald ‘The Peacemaker’

Sometimes things move me to write in a controlled rage. This is one such occasion I had to share.

Moments after this picture was taken an American bomb killed all those taking part in a tribal gathering. If this were part of a military operation they would hardly be out in the open would they. Yet they were joyfully killed.

I once believed that Trump may have some humanity - but no longer. To make a joke about something like this is obnoxious to those who harbour a sense of humanity - many of us were equally incensed by the ‘Signal Emojis’ debacle. This is an example of the bullying attitude that has been a feature of US leadership since it annihilated the native Americans. Back then Americans killed the buffalo of the Plains Indians so that they could not survive: today the Americans are targeting the water supplies of the Houthis to threaten their survival. In effect, Trump is saying ‘mess with us and you will be killed, whether you are an old man, woman or child’. But Trump and his team are too ignorant to appreciate that this will enrage the Houthis rather than dissuade them. Responding to the attack Yahya Saree, speaking for the Houthi made it clear that his people:

will not abandon its religious, moral, and humanitarian duties toward the oppressed Palestinian people, regardless of the repercussions.

Trump may believe he is looking tough but most inside and outside the West will be personally sickened by this. I certainly am. You are getting things wrong Orange man; you’re childishness will not Make America Great Again. And Americans deserve that.
